Tracy Buchanan, MBA, PT
President & Chief Executive Officer

Tracy Buchanan serves as the Chief Executive Officer of CarePartners Health Services, a post-acute care provider serving over 3,000 patients each day. With over 900 employees, CarePartners provides Rehabilitation, Home Health, Hospice, and Adult Care programs across WNC. Tracy began her career as a physical therapist at CarePartners and has held a variety of leadership roles prior to being named CEO in January 2009. Tracy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. She is very active in the WNC community and chairs or sits on numerous nonprofit boards. Tracy lives in Asheville with her husband, Scott Buchanan, and has two grown children, Andrew and Julia.

 

Christy Harwood
Chief Nursing Officer

Christy Harwood joined the CarePartners team as Chief Nursing Officer in April 2021. Christy has been a nurse for more than two decades, the majority of those years being in the post-acute setting of home health, where she began her career as a visiting case manager. Since 2018, she has served as the Director of Clinical Services for an acute care hospital. In this role she was responsible for Med-surg, ICU, and PCU areas. Christy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Mount Olive, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders as well as the Board of Directors of the Association for Home and Hospice Care of North Carolina. Christy lives with her family in Pisgah Forest. In their free time they enjoy glamping, hiking, and spending time with their three adult children and four beloved dogs.

 

Tyler Groesser, MBA
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Groesser has more than 11 years of healthcare experience and is currently serving as CFO for the CarePartners Post-Acute Business Lines in the NC Division. Prior to joining CarePartners in October of 2020 he served as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer of MHUMC in Savannah since May 2018 and additional experience in the South Atlantic Division as Assistant CFO and Interim CFO with two other sister facilities. During his career Mr. Groesser has attained valuable experience working with hospital staff to provide excellent, affordable healthcare to the communities he’s served. His career has been exclusively in the for-profit healthcare industry as he enjoys the challenges the industry navigates on a regular basis. Mr. Groesser received his Master of Business Administration Degree from Western Carolina University located in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. He also attained dual Bachelor degrees at WCU in Financial Planning as well as Entrepreneurship with a minor in Economics. There he served as President of the Economics Honors Fraternity for four consecutive years. In his personal life, Tyler and his wife Nicole enjoy spending time outdoors kayaking, rock climbing and paddle boarding. Tyler and Nicole have two beautiful girls.
