Huff Center Therapies - Occupational Therapy

Our licensed occupational therapists help children and families learn how to develop hand and body skills for play and learning, increase independence with self-care skills and address sensory needs and preferences. Specialty programs include constraint-induced therapy (helping children develop hand skills with conditions affecting one side of the body) and individual feeding therapy using the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach (SOS).

We are the only hospital in the region with occupational therapists that specialize in pediatrics. We offer both inpatient and outpatient services and our therapists are able to coordinate with other hospital subspecialists. Our occupational therapists work within the Developmental Follow-Up Program for at risk newborns and the Feeding and Swallowing Program.

Huff Center Therapies - Physical Therapy

Our licensed physical therapists work with children and families to facilitate motor development or restore motor function following an injury. In therapy sessions, children and families engage in activities to improve range of motion, strength, balance, coordination and endurance. We may recommend orthotics, bracing/splinting or casting to help children develop more functional movement patterns. We can assist with selecting and obtaining equipment that will allow children to explore their environments and function more independently.
