Signs and Symptoms of Heart Disease and Heart Attacks

Signs and symptoms of coronary heart disease (CHD) can be different with women and men. Some women may have no signs or symptoms - called silent CHD. Sometimes it may not be diagnosed until a women exhibits signs and symptoms of a heart attack, heart failure, or arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat).

Signs of Coronary Heart Disease

  • Angina (dull, heavy to sharp chest pain or discomfort)
  • Pain in the neck, jaw, throat, upper abdomen or back
